2007 T20 World Cup Winners – India

India became the T20 World Cup Winners of the inaugural edition held in South Africa with a nerve-wracking win over nemesis Pakistan in the summit clash by 5 runs. It was a complete all-round show that led them to glory. Their batters Gautam Gambhir, MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, and Robin Uthappa proved their mettle in contrasting conditions. At the same time, left-arm seamers RP Singh and Irfan Pathan had an incredible competition with the ball, picking up 22 wickets between them.

Joginder Sharma who bowled the final of the tournament became a household name as he defended 13 runs to help India to clinch an ICC Title for the first time in 24 years. MS Dhoni’s era as a skipper started with a triumph in the first edition of the T20 World Cup and subsequently, he even guided India to the 50 over World Cup Title four years later.

2009 T20 World Cup Winners – Pakistan

Pakistan who marginally missed out on winning the first edition of the T20 World Cup didn’t fail this time as they thrashed Sri Lanka by 8 wickets in the 2009 finals held at Lord’s. It was a good toss to lose as their bowlers did a tremendous job of restricting Sri Lanka to a paltry 138 runs. Shahid Afridi who initially bowled an economical spell was sent up the order and he didn’t disappoint and scored an unbeaten 54* runs from 40 balls to steer the side for a historic feat.

Later he was adjudged the Player of the Match. Skipper Younis Khan played a pivotal role, scoring 172 runs in 6 innings in the tournament at a strike rate of 139.83. Wicketkeeper batter Kamran Akmal emerged as their leading run-scorer with 188 runs in 7 innings while speedster Umar Gul tops the leading wicket-takers list with 13 scalps.

2010 T20 World Cup Winners – England

England ended their trophy drought in the ICC events securing the 2010 T20 World Cup held in West Indies. Paul Collingwood and his men beat Australia in the finals way too easily by 7 wickets to enter the record books. After finishing second in Group D with a loss over West Indies, they dominated Group 8, winning all 3 matches. In the semi-finals, they humbled Sri Lanka by 7 wickets and entered the finals for the first time and the rest is history.

Kevin Pietersen and Craig Kieswetter were the chief architects of the success, scoring 248 and 222 runs respectively. The contributions of their spinners Graeme Swann and Michael Yardy on slow wickets are still discussed to this date as both bowled in partnership picking up 10 and 4 wickets respectively. Left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom was the unsung hero, claiming 10 wickets with the best figures of 3 for 23.

2012 T20 World Cup Winners – West Indies

The first 3 editions produced different winners and the fourth edition saw a new champion as men from the Caribbean clinched their first-ever T20 World Cup Title in 2012 beating hosts Sri Lanka in the finals by 36 runs. On a tricky R. Premadasa wicket, Marlon Samuels’s assault of 78 from 56 balls guided them to a modest 137 and later bowlers did the remainder of the job to bowl Sri Lanka out for 101, where Sunil Narine emerged as their best bowler, returning with the figures of 3 for 9. They outclassed Australia in the Semi-Finals by 74 runs which made their job simpler.

Marlon Samuels ended up as their leading run-getter with 230 runs in 6 innings while Chris Gayle was at his brutal best and scored 222 runs at a strike rate of 150. Sunil Narine and Ravi Rampaul were their joint leading wicket-takers with 9 scalps each.

2014 T20 World Cup Winners – Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s moment finally came in 2014 after previously reaching the finals in the 2009 and 2012 editions. They entered the finals as underdogs against in-form India who arrived without a loss but thanks to their exceptional death bowling where they could restrict Men in Blue for 130 on the board.

Kumar Sangakkara’s timely knock of unbeaten 52* from 35 balls helped them to ace the chase with 13 balls to spare. Mahela Jayawardene turned out as their best batter with 158 runs in 6 innings and Nuwan Kulasekara was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 8 wickets.

2016 T20 World Cup Winners – West Indies

The 2016 edition was hosted by India. West Indies became the first side to win the T20 World Cup twice, they previously won the title in the 2012 edition held in Sri Lanka. Some merciless hitting from Carlos Brathwaite won them the final against England when 19 runs were required in the last over.

They were fortunate enough to beat India in the semi-finals as plenty of chances went their way. Marlon Samuels proved again he is the man of the final, scoring a remarkable 85* from 66 balls. Everyone stepped up on different occasions which proved to be the main success.

2021 T20 World Cup Winners – Australia

The 7th edition of the T20 World Cup was moved out of India due to covid-19 pandemic and played in UAE and Oman. Australia were nowhere the favorites at the start of the tournament and as the days went past, they started to dominate. They finished as runners in Group 1 before beating Pakistan in the 2nd Semi-Final by 5 wickets.

In the Finals, they excelled over Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand by 8 wickets where Mitchell Marsh played a blinder, scoring 77* from 50 balls and was named the Player of the Match. David Warner who collected 289 runs in 7 innings was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. Leg spinner Adam Zampa was their best bowler with 13 scalps in 7 matches.

2022 T20 World Cup Winners – England

The 8th edition of the T20 World Cup was hosted by Australia. England became the 2nd team to win the title twice after the West Indies. Despite going down against Ireland in the group stages they managed to put up resounding performances later in the tournament. They knocked out inaugural champions India in the semi-finals by 10 wickets margin before beating Pakistan in the finals at MCG by 5 wickets.

They put up a stunning exhibition of bowling to reduce Men in Green to 137 for 8 where Sam Curran ripped off the opposition batting, picking up 3 crucial wickets while Adil Rashid and Chris Jordan claimed 2 scalps each. Ben Stokes who was on the receiving end in the final of the 2016 World Cup became the hero this time, scoring 52* runs to guide England to a memorable win.

Which team has more chances to win the T20 World Cup?

The upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup 2024 is going to be the biggest in terms of participation as many as 20 Teams are participating including the hosts USA and West Indies. It’s the first of many for the USA who are featuring in their maiden T20 World Cup and it will be a massive boost for the development of cricket in the country.

2021 champions Australia and defending champions England are the top contenders to win the T20 World Cup 2024. In our cricket betting app, we predict Australia to be crowned as champions in the 9th edition of the T20 World Cup. The Aussies had a great run over the last year in ICC events where they clinched the ICC World Test Championship Title for the first time and reign supreme beating India in their backyard to lift the ICC Cricket World Cup for the record sixth time.

The squad composition they have picked for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 looks formidable in all areas led by all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. They didn’t make it to the knockouts when they hosted the last edition in 2022 and will be desperate to prove their worth when they travel to the USA and West Indies for the T20 World Cup 2024. They made a tough call to leave out their superstar Steven Smith and trusted the abilities of Cameron Green and Ashton Agar.

You will get more content related to the T20 World Cup 2024 on our cricket batting app.

Australia squad for T20 World Cup 2024:

David Warner, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh (c), Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Tim David, Matthew Wade (wk), Josh Inglis (wk), Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Nathan Ellis.

Which team has never won the T20 World Cup?

Among the 12 full members New Zealand, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Ireland are yet to win the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand to be honest should have won the title at least once after reaching the Semi-Finals on three occasions in 2007, 2016, and 2022, they came so close to winning the title in 2021 but lost to Australia in the finals by 8 wickets.

Which is the only team to win the T20 World Cup twice?

On our cricket betting app, we analyze which are the teams who won the T20 World Cup twice. England and West Indies are the only teams to win the T20 World Cup twice.

England under Paul Collingwood became T20 champions beating Australia in the finals in the 3rd edition which was held in the West Indies. Kensington Oval, Barbados hosted the summit clash where England easily chased down 147 with 18 balls to spare. Craig Kieswetter was adjudged the Player of the Final for his excellent 63 off 49 balls. Kevin Pietersen who finished as the second-leading run-scorer with 248 runs was declared the Player of the Tournament.

Their next major triumph in the T20 World Cup came in the year 2022 when they were crowned champions for the second time in Australian soil, outsmarting Pakistan by 5 wickets at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground. All-rounder Sam Curran was named both Player of the Final and as well as the Player of the Tournament.

West Indies had given up the hopes of winning their first-ever title in 2012 when they just set a target of a modest 138 against hosts Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium however later it turned out to be magical as they were dancing all over the ground when they won the contest easily by 36 runs. Marlon Samuels deserved to be the Player of the Final for his epic innings of 78 from 56 balls.

They garnered the attention of the cricketing fans much more when they became champions yet again in 2016 where they beat England in the finals in a dramatic fashion at Eden Gardens. Marlon Samuels turned out to be the hero yet again, scoring 85* of 66 balls to guide Men in Maroon for a historic feat. The contributions of Carlos Brathwaite stood out as he smashed four sixes in the final over of Ben Stokes to propel the side for an inspiring win.

Daren Sammy was the captain of the side on both occasions when they won the titles.

How many T20 World Cups has India won?

India has won the T20 World Cup only once back in 2007. Nobody believed they were going to win the trophy when they sent an inexperienced squad for the inaugural event held in South Africa when seniors Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid made themselves unavailable for the event.

MS Dhoni and his boys proved everyone wrong by becoming the T20 World Cup Winners in the inaugural edition. Gautam Gambhir’s 54-ball 75 powered them to a competitive 157 on the board in the finals against arch-rivals Pakistan. They held their nerves in front of packed Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg to win the game by a narrow 5-run margin when Misbah ul Haq’s mistimed scoop shot found the hands of Sreesanth at the short fine-leg. Irfan Pathan was named the Player of the Final for his outstanding bowling display where he picked up 3 wickets at an economy of 4.

What will be the format of the T20 World Cup 2024?

The schedule and format of this year’s T20 World Cup are quite different from the other editions of the tournament. The tournament will be played in three stages this time around: the league stage, the Super 8s, and the knockouts.

It will kick off with the league stage matches, where five teams in each group will play one match against every other team in their group, which makes it a total of four matches. After each team plays their league stage quota of four matches, the top two teams in each group will proceed to the next round, which is the Super 8s. A total of 40 matches will be played in the first round, which is the league stage.

At the end of the league stage round, eight teams will qualify for the Super 8s. Here, the eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each. The first group will consist of teams A1, B2, C1, and D2. The second group will consist of teams A2, B1, C2, and D1. All these teams will play three matches each amongst their groups, which makes it a total of 12 matches in this round. The top two teams in each group will proceed to the next round, the knockouts.

The third round would be the semi-final matches and the final. The winner of Group 1 in the Super 8s round and the runner-up of Group 2 will contest in the first semi-final, whereas the runner-up of Group 1 and the winner of Group 2 will face each other in the second semi-final. The teams winning both semi-final matches will play in the final of the T20 World Cup in 2024.

Who is hosting the T20 World Cup 2024?

The T20 World Cup 2024 tournament will be jointly hosted by two countries, the West Indies and the USA. All the matches will be played in both of these countries, with the knockouts all set to be played on the West Indies shores. The semi-finals will be played in Tarouba and Providence, whereas the final will be played in the beautiful city of Bridgetown.

The last edition of the tournament was hosted by Australia in 2022 and was won by the England cricket team. The edition before that was hosted in the UAE and Oman, but the official hosts were India.

Which teams will make it to the Super 8s?

It is time for some predictions on the GUGOBET cricket betting app. The tournament is all set to set the cricket fraternity on fire, with all the batters ready to show some explosives with their willows and the bowlers ready to show magic with the white leather in their hands.

In the shortest format of the game, there is no favourite, and any team can win on any given day, as we have witnessed in the past. There are a lot of underdog teams, and we expect nothing but multiple upsets to happen in the T20 World Cup this time around, just like in the last edition.

Since only two teams from each group will make it to the next round (the Super 8s) after the league stage matches, we have made our predictions very carefully.

From Group A, India and Pakistan are expected to move ahead. From Group B, Australia and England would most likely be the teams that take their campaign further. New Zealand and Afghanistan from Group C, and South Africa and the Netherlands from Group D, are predicted to go to the next round.

T20 World Cup 2024 Team India Squad Analysis

The cricket season is in full flow as we are witnessing such high-quality cricket on display in the ongoing Indian Premier League. But as we move closer to the knockout stages of the IPL 2024 season, we are also inching closer to the Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which is scheduled to be played on the beautiful shores of the West Indies and the USA.

The tournament will begin on Saturday, June 2, 2024, with the home team, the USA, playing the first match against Canada. The T20 World Cup 2024 this time around will be played in a different format, as cricketers from 20 different nations are going to give it their all for that elusive silverware.

The T20 World Cup 2024 team list consists of 20 teams distributed in four groups of five teams each, and the tournament will start with a league stage where each team will play the other four teams in their group once. T20 World Cup 2024 Team India Squad

The T20 World Cup 2024 team India squad was announced a few days before, with Rohit Sharma all set to lead the team in the tournament and Hardik Pandya as his deputy. The whole T20 World Cup 2024 team India squad is as follows:

Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh

Apart from these 15 players, the T20 World Cup 2024 India squad also comprises four players who will be going to the tournament as traveling reserves and will be called upon in the original squad in case of any unfortunate event.

The reserve players are Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed.

Team India Squad – SWOT Analysis

Let us analyze the India squad for the upcoming T20 World 2024 in detail by doing the SWOT analysis on our cricket betting app.

Strengths:

We will start by talking about the strengths of this roster. The main and most important strength of this 15-man roster is the experience that they have. Almost all of the players in the team have more than 10 years of experience playing international cricket and have played multiple world cups in their careers; hence, they know what it takes to win such a big tournament and how to perform well under pressure.

The other strength of this team is their bunch of spin bowlers. The four spinners in the squad are Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal. All four of these bowlers are currently in excellent form and can trap any batting lineup in their web. Only two or a maximum of three of these four spinners will find a spot in the playing 11, but whoever plays will be a big danger for the opposing team.

Last but not least, this Indian team has two players named Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, who are match-winners and strengths in themselves. Both of them are undoubtedly the greatest of this generation. As long as these two play well and keep on saving the team in difficult situations, India will be the favourites to lift the World Cup title.

Weaknesses:

Coming to the weaknesses, the most glaring concern that is visible in the team is the lack of form with fast bowlers other than Jasprit Bumrah. Both Mohammad Siraj and Arshdeep Singh are bowlers of the highest quality and have a lot of calibre, but they have been out of form in the ongoing IPL season, and hence it is a sign of concern for the team. There is hardly a doubt over their talent, and hence, the issue is with their current form in T20 cricket.

Another concern that might trouble the Indian team in this World Cup is finishing the games. Hardik Pandya, the vice-captain of the team, is the designated finisher in the squad, but he is not in form and is not even in a good headspace right now. There is no solid backup as well for Pandya, and this is something that can cause big trouble for the men in blue in winning their second T20 World Cup trophy.

Opportunities:

There are ample opportunities for players in this Indian squad to perform well in this year’s tournament and win India their long-awaited ICC trophy. The biggest opportunity is for Rishabh Pant, who is coming back after a life-threatening injury, to wear the blues again and take the cricketing world by storm. He has shown everyone the trailer in IPL, and the picture is about to come in the World Cup next month.

The other opportunity is for youngsters such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Rinku Singh, who have earned this call-up to the national team after a lot of hard work and consistent performances in domestic cricket. If given a chance here, they would look to take it with both hands and perform well for the country.

Threats:

The biggest possible threat, which can be seen from a mile away in this India squad, is the injury to Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is the most valuable and crucial player in this team, and his staying away from injuries is extremely important for the whole Indian team. Fast bowlers are prone to injuries, and hence they are a huge threat on this roster.

Apart from this, no threat as such can trouble the players, but the players should stay away from injuries and not let the outside noise affect their game, and mental peace holds the utmost value.

Who will open the innings for India in the T20 World Cup?

It is almost certain that captain Rohit Sharma and youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the innings for Team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2024. It is a right-left combination as well, which can trouble any bowling lineup in the tournament. Both of these players are not in form right now, but all of us know their pedigree and what they are capable of. Once they get going, it is very difficult to stop them before scoring huge runs.

One alternate strategy could be opening the innings with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and then playing Sanju Samson at three. Kohli has been opening in the IPL for many years now and has been successful in doing so. Sanju Samson is also batting well for the Rajasthan Royals at number three and would not be a bad choice at all in the World Cup.

Who will be the captain of India in the T20 World Cup 2024?

Rohit Sharma, the right-handed opening batter, will lead the Indian contingent in the T20 World Cup 2024 next month, which will be played in the USA and the West Indies. He was also the captain of the team in the last edition of the T20 World Cup in 2022, when India bowed out of the tournament after a semi-final loss against England.

Hardik Pandya, the batting all-rounder, will be Rohit Sharma’s deputy as he has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian team in the T20 World Cup 2024. Pandya is a smart street leader who is still young and will gain a lot of experience from Rohit in the forthcoming tournament.

Team India Predicted 11 in T20 World Cup 2024

It is now time to predict the probable playing 11 of the men in blue for this upcoming tournament on the GUGOBET cricket betting app.

The opening batters in this team are going to be Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. There is no doubt as to who will bat in the number-three position other than Virat Kohli. Suryakumar Yadav, who is a beast in the shortest format of the game, will be batting in the number four position.

The first-choice keeper is more likely to be Rishabh Pant because the keeper will have to bat at number five, and Pant is a better-suited player than Samson for that position. Hardik Pandya will bat at six and act as the sixth bowling option.

The two spinners in the team should be Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, but that would shorten the batting lineup, and hence Ravindra Jadeja will play in place of one of these two. The three pacers are going to be Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, and Arshdeep Singh. One extra spinner and one less pacer could play, depending on the conditions.

Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammad Siraj

IPL 2024 Playoff Prediction

The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is the most competitive in the last 17 years. There is an intense battle between the 10 teams with extraordinary talent and skill sets. A total of 52 matches have been played until May 4th and going as per the current scenario Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders are likely to finish as the top two teams in the standings.

The battle is going on between Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, and Lucknow Super Giants for the remaining two playoff spots. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Mumbai Indians, are the bottom-placed sides in the standings and their chances of finishing in the top four are very slim.

Mumbai Indians who were in the news for various reasons this season such as captaincy change, and the trade of Cameron Green are in the line to get eliminated as the first team from the tournament. Journalists termed the side a divided house since the appointment of Hardik Pandya, whose ideas and attitude seem not liked by his compatriots. The 5-time champions have made it to the Playoffs once since becoming the champions in 2020. In our IPL Prediction 2024 articles, we insist our subscribers not bet on Mumbai Indians going forward season on our IPL betting online platform.

Going forward in the article we discuss IPL Predictions 2024 of Playoffs, which are the teams that will make it to the final four and their journey throughout the competition on our IPL betting online platform.

IPL Qualifier 2024 Prediction

Going with their current performances and form, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to clash against each other in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024.

Rajasthan Royals captained by Sanju Samson are doing extremely well this season, winning 8 of their 10 matches played and sitting at the pole position in the standings with 16 points. Two of their losses have come by the barest of margins otherwise they would have remained unbeaten.

They made a dream start winning four matches upfront against LSG, DC, MI, and RCB, then suffered a hiccup when they lost to GT at home for the first team on the final ball of the match where they couldn’t defend 196 despite having the diversified bowling attack in the league. They regained their confidence back and went on to win their next four matches before suffering another slight setback with a loss over SRH where they failed to score 2 runs of the final delivery.

They are a team full of superstars consisting of Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Trent Boult, which makes them a formidable group as they don’t possess a weakness. Against all the odds, the one man who raised to the occasion is Riyan Parag who has been with the side since 2019 and repaying the faith this season, scoring 409 runs in 9 innings at a strike rate of 159.14.

Seasoned spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up the most wickets for the team with 13 to his name in 10 matches and has the best figures of 3 for 11. This could be their 6th  appearance in the Playoffs having made it in 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2022. They became the inaugural champions beating Chennai Super Kings in the finals of 2008. Take a look at team composition while betting on Rajasthan Royals in our IPL online betting platform.

Kolkata Knight Riders is the most balanced team in the tournament and has the best support staff as well. They are enjoying their journey so far, winning 7 of their 10 matches and placing 2nd in the standings with 10 points. Shreyas Iyer’s side was unbeaten in their previous two matches where they beat Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals by 24 runs and 7 wickets respectively. They didn’t have the quality seam bowler upfront and that’s when they decided to buy Aussie paceman Mitchell Starc for a record-summer of 24.75 crores, he did a decent job for his huge price tag, picking up 11 wickets in 9 matches with the best figures of 4 for 33.

Gautam Gambhir the newly appointed Mentor of the side is a big fan of Sunil Narine’s batting and he made Narine open the innings and the rest is magic. The 35-year-old has smoked 380 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 179.24, in the process he has hit two half-centuries and a century. His opening partner Phil Salt who joined the side in place of his countrymen Jason Roy, tops the run-scorers list for the side with 397 runs in 10 matches. Varun Chakravarthy, Andre Russell, Shreyas Iyer, and Venkatesh Iyer are the other standout performers this season.

Both sides will be missing England-bound players for the playoffs as England are set to play 4 home T20Is against Pakistan which is starting on May 22nd.

Upon analyzing the strengths, combinations, records, and head-to-head clashes, we predict Kolkata Knight Riders as the winner of the Qualifier 1.

It’s advisable to bet on Kolkata Knight Riders on our IPL betting online platform.

IPL Eliminator 2024 Prediction:

There is an intense battle happening among Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, and we predict Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad to play in the Eliminator on May 22nd.

Lucknow Super Giants who made their first appearance in IPL a couple of years ago, are eyeing their 3rd consecutive Playoffs. Despite a limited number of superstars in their arsenal, they are going strong at the moment and placed 3rd in the standings with 12 points.

KL Rahul has been able to regroup the players well and has provided the best results so far in the IPL 2024. He has set a massive example for the team, hammering 406 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 142.95 but will be disappointed for sure after missing the flight to the upcoming T20 World Cup which is scheduled in the USA and West Indies.

Marcus Stoinis is the most experienced player in the setup, played one of the knocks for the ages, single-handedly winning the game against Chennai Super Kings with an unbeaten 124* from just 63 balls. The West Indian Nicholas Pooran has done his part, collecting 305 runs at an average of 61.

Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to qualify for the playoffs in the last three seasons and finished at the bottom half of the standings. This led the management to buy well-recognized players around the world for IPL 2024 as a result they acquired the services of talismanic Aussie speedster Pat Cummins for a whopping Rs 20.5 crore and 2023 World Cup Final Hero Travis Head for Rs 6.8 crore.

Their batting has gone to a different level, especially openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma set the trend of providing explosive starts. Testament to their skills they have surpassed 250 plus runs on three occasions and registered the highest score of 287 in the IPL history. Heinrich Klaasen’s contribution has also played a part in their success as the South African wicketkeeper batter struck 337 runs in 10 matches making him the second leading run-scorer behind Travis Head who has accumulated 396 runs.

Yorker specialist T Natarajan has been their trump card with the ball, picking up 15 wickets at an economy of 8.96 with the best figures of 4 for 19. Orange Army is currently placed 4th in the standings (that is subject to change) with 12 points.

Considering their strengths and weaknesses, Sunrisers Hyderabad have got big match players in their ranks as compared to Lucknow Super Giants and are expected to advance into the finals.

Hence we predict Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the Eliminator and Qualifier 2. So it’s advisable to bet on them on our IPL betting online platform.

IPL 2024 Winner Prediction:

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad are expected to meet in the finals with both sides aiming for their 2nd title. Sunrisers Hyderabad has a successful skipper Pat Cummins who led Australia to back-to-back ICC titles last year hence in our IPL online betting platform we predict Sunrisers Hyderabad to be crowned as champions of IPL 2024.

Guide To Online Cricket Betting: Understand All Types, Tips and Odds

It is not like the old times when cricket merely used to be a sport. Nowadays, cricket is so much more than just a sport. It is a passion, a feeling, and a religion in the majority of parts of the world, which unites millions and billions of people across the globe.

With this huge rise in the popularity of this beautiful sport, the popularity of cricket betting as well as online betting in general has also skyrocketed. The spectators of this sport see cricket betting as a way of earning profits using their expertise and love for the game.

However, it is not as simple as it seems. Getting successful and earning huge revenue from cricket betting and sports betting requires not just luck but also a thorough understanding of the sport, in-depth analysis, smart decision-making, and cricket betting tips from experts.

Hence, if you are any other beginner in this betting industry, it is not an easy road for you, but if you are a beginner and have chosen GUGOBET as your bookmaker, the journey is going to be as easy as drinking water because we at GUGOBET make the cricket betting journey of our fans a remarkable and hassle-free experience.

Our exclusive features, such as an excellent user interface, round-the-clock customer service, industry-best odds, numerous bonuses and, most importantly, free cricket betting tips and cricket betting predictions by experts, help us run differently from other cricket betting apps in the market.

Below is our comprehensive guide to cricket betting for beginners, where we will fill you in with all the required information and resources you need to become a seasoned cricket bettor. We will start by explaining the different types of bets, then the various factors affecting the bets, and then we will offer you valuable and free cricket betting tips, explain cricket exchange betting, and a lot more.

Types of Cricket Bets

Cricket betting prediction allows you to place a variety of bets to add flavour to the sport, with the potential to win big. Each cricket betting prediction wager provides a distinctive chance to place money on various facets of the game, such as match outcomes and individual player performances. There are more than 100 kinds of bets that can be placed that cater to different kinds of people, but we will just be discussing the most common ones here.

The match-winner cricket betting prediction is one of the most simple bets, in which you speculate and place your wager on the team you think will win the match. The odds are very clearly mentioned for both teams in this kind of bet and change almost every ball as the match progresses.

After the match winner bet, the most common types of bets are top batter and top bowler in the match. These are the wagers usually made by bettors who are more interested in individual performances than team performances. In these kinds of bets, you predict which batter will score the most runs in the match or which bowler will take the most wickets.

For bettors who are not very interested in live betting and don’t want to wager a huge sum of money, bets such as Innings Runs are prevalent. Here, a bettor can place money by predicting the total score of a team at the end of the inning. There are also over/under bets for such people, where they can predict whether the overall number of runs or wickets in a match will be over or under a certain figure.

Another kind of bet is the Player of the Match bet, where one can wager on which player will perform the bets in the match and win the Player of the Match award. The odds for this bet are available even before the match begins for some top players.

Apart from these bets that are all based on a particular live cricket match, there are outright tournament bets as well. For example, tournament winner, best batter, best bowler, etc. In these bets, you place bets according to the whole tournament and not just a particular match. The odds are generally higher in these bets and offer a chance to win big to cricket betting enthusiasts.

Factors affecting Odds on Cricket Bets

Let us have a look at the various factors that can affect the cricket bets, or, we can say, the odds available on various cricket bets on the GUGOBET cricket betting app. Here, we will find out why a particular team has a better chance of winning against an opponent even before the match begins.

  • Ground and Pitch Conditions: If a team is playing at their home venue or a particular venue where they have dominated in the past, they are more likely to get a win in the next match as well, and hence they start as favourites. For example, in an IPL match at the Chepauk Stadium, the Chennai Super Kings will always be the favourites against any opponent.
  • Team and Player Form: The odds also depend on the kind of form the team is in. If a team has been on a winning streak for the past few matches, they are likely to be the favourites in the upcoming match against their opponent. Player form is also crucial, as the player who is in good form and has been scoring runs or taking wickets in the whole tournament would have less odds of being the top batter or bowler of the match.
  • Weather Report: If the weather is overcast, then the team with better swing bowlers would have an upper hand in the match. Similarly, if the weather is sunny and the pitch looks dry, the team with a batter set of spin bowlers will more likely come out on top.
  • Toss Winner: In the sport of cricket, the toss often plays an important role in the outcome of a match. If it’s a night match and dew is expected, the team batting second will always have an advantage over the team batting first, and if the pitch is expected to get slow as the match progresses, putting runs on the board first is necessary.

Cricket Betting Tips on GUGOBET

After understanding the types of bets and the factors affecting the odds on those bets, you are half-ready to start wagering. Once you have a look at these free cricket betting tips, you will be almost ready to place your wagers on GUGOBET.

  • Picking the right sportsbook: Having the finest cricket betting app that provides distinct benefits like a user-friendly design, round-the-clock customer care, easy deposit and withdrawal, a large number of betting options, and industry-best odds for making bets addresses half of your difficulties and hence is the most important cricket betting tip. Since you are already reading this on GUGOBET, you have taken the first step in the right direction.
  • Prefer real-time betting: The odds shift for nearly every delivery in a live cricket match, providing gamblers with a good possibility of winning. Because live betting provides more opportunities to boost earnings, whereas pre-match betting has fixed odds, bettors should examine and prioritize live betting during a cricket match over placing wagers before the play begins.
  • Understand Betting Markets: Yet another crucial cricket betting tip is to learn about the various cricket betting markets and types of bets. You have to determine which market is suitable for you and will provide the maximum returns. Match winner, top batter/bowler, overall innings score, runs at the conclusion of powerplay, a specific bowler to take how many wickets, and others are some examples of betting markets in cricket, as we discussed above.
  • Handle Your Cashflow Wisely: The essential cricket betting tip is proper bankroll management and responsible gambling. Managing your money effectively is vital for long-term success in cricket betting. Beginners should use a responsible betting strategy that minimizes losses. Gambling can be addictive, and hence, at GUGOBET, we promote responsible gambling and handling the cash flow wisely.

Cricket Exchange Betting

Cricket exchange betting is an intriguing notion. It converts the usual betting approach into a cricket betting approach, allowing bettors to wager on live cricket odds during a cricket match. This innovative concept of cricket exchange betting enables punters to profit significantly from real-time fluctuations in a cricket game by buying, selling, or even swapping stakes on various outcomes such as match winner, player runs/wickets, runs at the end of the innings, and much more.

It differs from typical cricket betting in that bettors wager on the match as it unfolds on the field, whereas traditional betting has the odds fixed before the game begins. Exchange betting is quite similar to a marketplace in that users set their odds and match them against others, creating a competitive environment full of chances. This type of betting allows cricket fans to fully utilize their understanding of the game to maximize their gains.

Is Cricket Betting profitable?

Cricket betting is two sides of the same coin. If approached with a good strategy and responsibly, it can be profitable and reap huge rewards, but if it is not done effectively, it can destroy you. Discipline while placing the wagers is crucial for successful cricket betting. Punters who are seasoned and have seen huge success in this area conduct extensive research and analysis and comprehend the game well. While there are risks, there is significant potential for those who can correctly anticipate match outcomes, player performances, and other factors impacting cricket matches, making cricket betting a profitable affair.

IPL 2024 and ISL 2024 are not just seasons; they represent the evolution and growth of cricket and football in India, respectively.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) burst onto the scene in 2008, revolutionizing the way cricket is perceived and consumed in the country. Whether it’s the National Football League (NFL) or the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the US, or the Premier League in England, each league boasts loyal supporters who have inherited their allegiance from generations past. Territorialism runs deep; you wouldn’t dare to wear a West Ham jersey in Bermondsey without expecting some confrontation from Millwall fans.

The same goes for East Bengal and Mohun Bagan fans in Kolkata. Take the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers, for instance—arch rivals for almost a century, their fierce competition is built on regional proximity and a history of intense battles across 186 meetings. However, this sense of tribalism that characterizes most sporting rivalries can sometimes turn toxic. It’s this tribalism that makes fans identify with players who could switch teams tomorrow and not matter as much to them anymore. But as long as they are playing for the badge, your club’s badge, you’d defend them with your life.

This brings us to the IPL matches. According to official broadcasters, this season saw a 23% rise in viewership from the previous edition, reaching an average of 31.57 million impressions. The surge in interest this year was epitomized by people’s engagement with fantasy gaming platforms. What’s intriguing is the tendency among users to support a player they’ve picked in their fantasy team over the team they claim to support. So you have someone like Rohan from Kolkata cheering for Dinesh Karthik’s wicket off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling solely because it would earn him points to win a head-to-head contest and some cash. Although there’s nothing wrong with this, it does indicate a lack of genuine attachment between fans and franchises.

The territorial loyalty that unites and divides people through their love for the sport seems to be lost. One could argue that the spectacle of the IPL, with its commercial packaging, glamour, and a pitch typically favorable to batsmen, has somehow overshadowed the intense chanting and fan banter seen in a Kolkata derby between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan, or the Southern derby involving Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters. After a loss, fans may feel disappointed, but perhaps not deeply enough to hurt their pride or ego, as is often the case in those aforementioned derbies.

In the world of Indian sports, the clash between IPL and ISL games represents a similar dichotomy. With each passing season, both leagues attract more viewers and fans, yet the depth of emotional investment seems to differ. IPL 2024 and ISL 2024 continue this saga of intense competition and evolving fan dynamics, each leaving its mark on the landscape of Indian sports.

Comparison between IPL VS ISL

In the realm of Indian sports, there’s an age-old battle between cricket and football, each vying for the nation’s attention. Once a football powerhouse, India’s aspirations to reclaim its glory on the international stage remain a part of its rich history. Conversely, cricket boasts two World Cup victories and a slew of other international accolades, cementing its status as a national obsession. Amidst this debate over sports supremacy, India hosts two simultaneous leagues: the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Indian Super League (ISL), each with its own distinct identity.

Attention from the crowd

IPL Auction and News

The Indian Premier League, fondly known as IPL, is nothing short of a cricketing extravaganza. Boasting a galaxy of stars like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and M.S. Dhoni, IPL commands attention not only within India but also on the global stage. The league’s allure is further heightened by the presence of renowned team owners such as Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, whose involvement adds a touch of glamor and intrigue to the proceedings.

In recent IPL News, the IPL auction has been a major event, drawing attention from cricket fans worldwide. The auctions are where teams bid for players to strengthen their squads, and it often leads to intense bidding wars and surprising player transfers. This adds another layer of excitement and anticipation to the IPL, keeping fans glued to their screens.

Indian Super League

Meanwhile, the Indian Super League, or ISL, is not lacking in star power either. With marquee signings like Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Robert Pires, and the legendary Roberto Carlos, ISL has carved out its own niche in Indian football. Moreover, the league’s appeal extends beyond the footballing realm, with cricketing icons like Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, as well as Bollywood luminaries including Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Ranbir Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan, owning or co-owning teams. This amalgamation of sporting and entertainment icons ensures that ISL remains a compelling spectacle for fans across the nation.

Timing and Power

When we talk about cricket, the Indian Premier League (IPL) stands out as the most prestigious and popular T20 league globally. While there are T20 leagues in other cricket-playing nations, the IPL’s timing ensures there’s no clash, allowing it to draw in the biggest cricketing stars from around the world. This has not only contributed to the IPL’s immense success but also ensured a high level of competition and excitement for fans.

On the other hand, the Indian Super League (ISL) operates in a different scenario. Scheduled during the peak seasons of highly-followed football leagues like the English Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga, the ISL faces a tough challenge. While football is gaining popularity among the youth in India, their loyalty tends to lie more with international clubs rather than the domestic league. This dynamic could work against the ISL, hindering its growth and fan engagement.

Meanwhile, in the realm of football, ISL games are trying to carve their niche among the passionate football fans in India. However, the challenge lies in competing with the allure of international leagues, where the top clubs and players capture the imagination of Indian football enthusiasts. While the ISL has made strides in promoting football in India, it still has a long way to go in terms of establishing itself as the premier football league in the country. Despite the differences in their journeys and challenges, both the IPL and ISL continue to shape the sports landscape in India, each with its own set of triumphs and hurdles. As IPL auctions and ISL games unfold, fans eagerly await the drama and excitement that come with these premier sporting events, hoping to witness their favorite teams and players shine on the big stage.

Controversies

Controversies Indian Premier League (IPL) Indian Super League (ISL)
Betting Allegations The league faced allegations of betting involving two team owners, Gurunath Meiyappan of CSK and Raj Kundra of Royals, which shook the trust of cricket fans. In contrast, the Indian Super League has maintained a clean image since its inception.
Match Fixing Furthermore, some players were accused of involvement in match-fixing scandals, further eroding fans’ trust in the integrity of IPL matches. With 12 teams and over 300 players, ISL has garnered widespread acclaim in India and globally, ranking as the 4th most viewed football league.

Did ISL improve Indian football? The question is asked repeatedly, and the answer seems to be a resounding yes. The ISL has played a significant role in popularizing football in India, providing a platform for local talent to shine and raising the overall standard of the sport in the country.

In contrast, the IPL auction system has often come under scrutiny for various reasons. While it provides an opportunity for players to secure lucrative contracts, it has also faced criticism for being exploitative and favoring certain players and teams. The high-pressure environment of the auction can sometimes lead to impulsive decisions and inflated prices, raising questions about its fairness and transparency. Overall, both the IPL and ISL have had their own journeys and impacts on Indian sports. While the IPL has faced its share of controversies, the ISL has emerged as a positive force for Indian football, showcasing the talent and potential of the country on a global stage.

Conclusion

As the IPL vs ISL rivalry continues to captivate fans, the anticipation builds for the upcoming matches that promise electrifying showdowns between powerhouse teams. Which IPL team is the best?

The most lucrative cricket league in the world, Indian Premier League, is getting better and better. The 17th edition is in full swing and half of the tournament is over. Rajasthan Royals are the current leaders having won 8 matches while Royal Challengers Bengaluru are still struggling down at the bottom of the standings with 3 wins. The impact sub-rule which was introduced last year is getting plenty of attention this season and the teams have made complete use of it as a result we are witnessing the excess of 250 plus scores consistently.

Understanding that IPL has a rich fan base and to garner their attention, the surfaces are usually flat and the runs will automatically flow. Having struggled all these years, bowlers got some sort of advantage with two bouncers per over but that didn’t click to the fullest. Plenty of things have changed over the last 16 years but the craze of the fans remains the same.

Here in this article, we will discuss how the teams have performed over the last 16 years in our IPL betting online platform. Do follow our website for more content related to IPL Prediction 2024.

IPL History

India lifted the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup back in 2007 under the leadership of MS Dhoni and the celebrations went wild throughout the country. This prompted the BCCI to counter the rebel Indian Cricket League and they started a franchise-based T20 League named Indian Premier League in 2008. Initially, it was an eight-team tournament featuring Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Deccan Chargers.

Following the success in the first two years, allowed BCCI to expand the league to 10 teams in the 2011 edition with Kochi Tuskers and Pune Warriors coming as the new entrants. Kochi Tuskers sustained only one season and was terminated by the BCCI while Pune Warriors dropped themselves out of the League in 2013.

Gujarat Lions and Raising Pune Super Giants replaced Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the 2016 and 2017 editions who were suspended due to spot-fixing scandals.

When the League was played under closed doors in 2020 in UAE due to covid pandemic, there was a considerable spike in the viewership which led BCCI to expand the league to 10 teams once again. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants won the bids and made their league debuts in 2022.

Teams Journey Thus Far in IPL

Royal Challengers Bengaluru:

The franchise based out of Bengaluru has the most passionate and loyal fans, though their team hasn’t won the title since the tournament’s inception in 2008. M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru is their home venue. As a team, they suffered more failures than successes throughout their entire IPL campaign. They fell short of winning the title by the barest of margins thrice when they reached the finals in 2009, 2011, and 2016. Challengers held the highest IPL Team score of 263 until 2024 which was broken by Sunrisers Hyderabad the same year.

Indian cricketing legend Rahul Dravid was their first captain who led the side in 2008 but the side failed under him completely and they ended up finishing 7th in the table with only 4 wins. Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, Virat Kohli, Shane Watson, and Faf du Plessis are the other players to lead the franchise. Their best season came in the year 2016 but they lost in the finals against Sunrisers Hyderabad by mere 8 runs. Skipper Virat Kohli enjoyed a dream run, smashing 973 runs in 16 matches that included 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Co-owned by Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Kolkata Knight Riders rank themselves as the 3rd best team in the IPL having won the title in 2012 and 2014. They didn’t enjoy a great run in the first three years as they ended up in the league stages. Sourav Ganguly was their icon player who led the side in 2008 and 2010. Brendon McCullum, Gautam Gambhir, Jacques Kallis, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, Shreyas Iyer, and Nitish Rana are the other players to lead the side.

Things started to change when they brought Gautam Gambhir in the 2011 auction and the batter from Delhi provided a good result taking the side to the Playoffs in his very first season for the franchise followed by a successful campaign in 2012 where they clinched the title for the first time beating Chennai Super Kings in the finals at Chepauk. They lifted their 2nd title in 2014 when they outsmarted Punjab Kings in the summit clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

They came close to their 3rd IPL title in 2021 but they lost to Chennai Super Kings in the finals by 27 runs. In the ongoing 2024 edition, they are doing well, winning 6 of their 9 matches to place themselves 2nd in the standings with 12 points.

Knight Riders ranked 3rd among the IPL Teams following their performances over the years.

Yellow Brigade is one of the consistent performers and undoubtedly the best team in IPL history. They won the title 5 times and ended up as runners on 5 occasions. 2020 and 2022 are the only two years where they finished in the league stages. MS Dhoni is the only player to be with the franchise since 2008, he led the side in 235 matches and has a 60.42 winning record. Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are the other players to lead the franchise.

MS Dhoni passed his captaincy baton to Ruturaj Gaikwad in the ongoing 2024 edition where they currently placed 3rd in the standings with 10 points.

Mumbai Indians

The Mumbai Indians franchise is owned by India’s most successful businessman Mukesh Ambani. They have won the joint most titles in IPL with 5 to their name. Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai is their home venue. Mumbai Indians’ journey didn’t begin well in the first two seasons as they settled for league stages and their success started in 2010 when they ended up as runners-up losing to Chennai Super Kings. They crowned champions for the first time in 2013 under Rohit Sharma and later went on to win the titles in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. For all these records, we can easily say Mumbai Indians are one of the best teams in the IPL.

Having not got the desired results in the 2021, 2022, and 2023 seasons, the management took a tough call to change their skipper in 2024, Hardik Pandya who was traded to the franchise from Gujarat Titans appointed as their new captain.

It’s advisable not to bet on Mumbai Indians going all the way to the Playoffs in the 2024 edition on our IPL betting online platform.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad is owned by Kalanithi Maran and the team took part in the IPL for the first time in 2013. Sunrisers Hyderabad came on board when Deccan Chargers were terminated from the league in 2012. In their debut season, they made a giant stride to qualify for the playoffs. The team got their breakthrough when they emerged champions in 2016 beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the finals. They enjoyed a great run between 2017-2020, managing to qualify for the playoffs. In 2021, their downfall started and didn’t go well in the next two seasons as they settled for League stages.

The franchise is currently doing well in the 2024 edition, under newly appointed skipper Pat Cummins and Head Coach Daniel Vettori. Kumar Sangakkara, Cameron White, Shikhar Dhawan, Darren Sammy, David Warner, Kane Williamson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Manish Pandey, and Aiden Markram are the captains to lead the team in the previous years. Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the highest team total in the IPL, registering 287 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Rajasthan Royals didn’t have great success in the IPL, apart from clinching the title in the inaugural season they managed to qualify for the playoffs only on four occasions later on. They made it to the finals for the second time in 2022 and eventually got beaten at the hands of Gujarat Titans.

They were suspended for match-fixing allegations in the 2016 and 2017 editions. Shane Warne, Rahul Dravid, Shane Watson, Steven Smith, and Ajinkya Rahane have led the side in different years. Sanju Samson is the current skipper and under him the side is doing exceptionally well, winning 8 of their 9 matches to occupy the top position in the standings.

Delhi Capitals

Delhi Daredevils rebranded as Delhi Capitals when JSW Sports bought the 50 per cent stake in 2018. The franchise plays its home games in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The Capitals haven’t had great success in the league’s history. Their best result to date is qualifying for the finals in 2020 where they lost to Mumbai Indians. They lost in the Semi-Finals in the first two seasons and entered the Playoffs in 2012, 2019, and 2021. Between 2013-2018 they were consistently poor and settled for the league stages.

Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Dinesh Karthik, James Hopes, Mahela Jayawardene, Ross Taylor, David Warner, Kevin Pietersen, JP Duminy, Zaheer Khan, Karun Nair, Shreyas Iyer have led the side. Rishabh Pant and Ricky Ponting are their current skipper and Head Coach respectively.

In the remaining editions, they ended up in the league stages. Kings have used as many as 15 skippers to date which is the most by any team in the IPL. They shifted their new home to Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur this year from I.S Bindra Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.

In the ongoing season, they are currently placed 8th in the standings with 6 points.

Owned by CVC Capital Partners, the Gujarat Titans franchise made their first IPL appearance in the 2022 edition and made history in the inaugural edition to be crowned as champions beating Rajasthan Royals in the finals at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. Hardik Pandya’s captaincy gained a lot of appreciation as he led the side to the title in his first stint as the skipper. Titans backed up their performance in the following edition but missed out on winning back-to-back titles with a last-ball defeat to Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 finals.
