EPL Predictions 2024/25: Predicting Gameweek 8 Results

Premier League 2024/25 Week 8 Prediction & Betting Tips

With the onset of Gameweek 8 of the EPL 2024-25 season, every match becomes hunting time for all the teams involved. Thus, EPL predictions are becoming crucial. This includes significant players, expected goal scorers, and implications for the table.; and the football betting app, GUGOBET, is there to accompany these activities.

EPL 2024-25: Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United

EPL Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United

Tottenham Hotspur will take on West Ham United in a London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 19th October at 5 p.m. IST. They lie very close in the league table. The Spurs rank 9th, while the Hammers are just behind in 10th. Irrespective, the clash would take place at a time after Spurs lost 3-2 to Brighton in what had been a damp squib, thus spoiling momentum for a string of good results. There was a strong 4-1 win against Ipswich that perfumed West Ham with that will-o’-the-wisp of a bid at Premier League, only for them to, far too often, hit the wall in the long haul towards consistency.

EPL Predictions: Tottenham Hotspur vs West Ham United

Prediction Details
Scoreline Tottenham 2-1 West Ham
Tottenham Goalscorers James Maddison, Dominic Solanke
West Ham Goalscorer Jarrod Bowen
League Impact Spurs are likely to remain 9th, West Ham 10th, depending on other results.

Fulham has a home date with Aston Villa in the Premier League on October 19 at 7.30 PM IST at Craven Cottage. Fulham is now considerably situated within the top eight of the Premier League table, and they have Aston Villa one spot above with a spot at the eighth. Though strong in their effort until the end, Fulham, nevertheless, lost to City 3-2 during the week, while Villa settled for a still-achieved draw against Manchester United, with the game ending with an equipollent, bringing the continuing unbeaten streak into an extension.

EPL Predictions: Fulham vs Aston Villa

EPL Preview: Ipswich Town vs Everton

Ipswich Town is facing off against Everton at Portman Road on October 19, starting at 7:30 PM IST. This season, both teams are struggling, with Ipswich occupying 17th place and Everton 16th place. Ipswich are in real trouble, with four successive draws followed by a heartbreaking 4-1 defeat against West Ham; meanwhile, Everton seek to amplify their recent three-match unbeaten streak. The Toffees were unfortunate to tie with Newcastle United last time, with referee decisions affecting the final verdict.

EPL Predictions: Ipswich Town vs Everton

Manchester United faces Brentford in the Premier League match at Old Trafford on October 19th at 7:30 PM IST. At the moment, the Red Devils find themselves in an unfamiliar 14th place and are desperate for a victory to revive their campaign. Brentford sits in 11th place as they aim to upset the United apple cart, although the home team would be strong favorites to take this one. Rashford has been the main man for United in the course of the current season. Brentford will look to Bryan Mbeumo’s prowess to suss out the defensive vulnerabilities in United’s play.

EPL Predictions: Manchester United vs Brentford

Prediction Details
Scoreline Manchester United 2-1 Brentford
Manchester United Goalscorers Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes

A feature encounter will see Newcastle welcome Brighton on 19th October at 7:30 PM IST. The two teams come into this match in good form with the same stats of three wins, three draws, and one defeat in their last seven encounters. The good form in the Premier League has seen Newcastle go twelve games unbeaten in league and cup matches at home. Brighton’s unpredictable way of playing recently saw them score a shock but fantastic 3-2 win over Tottenham, courtesy of young Evan Ferguson.

EPL Predictions: Newcastle United vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Prediction Details
Scoreline Newcastle 2-2 Brighton
Newcastle Goalscorers Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak

EPL Preview: Southampton vs Leicester City

Southampton will take on Leicester City in a key Premier League match at St. Mary’s Stadium at 7:30 PM on October 19. The Saints are still at the bottom of the table and have yet to win any match this season. Leicester City, sitting 15th, will be eyeing to take maximum points by capitalizing on Southampton’s weaknesses. Scoreline Leicester City 1-0 Southampton
Southampton Goalscorers Che Adams

Bournemouth welcomes Arsenal for an important Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium on October 19 at 7:30 PM IST. The Gunners are undefeated this season and want to continue their form after coming off a 3-1 comeback victory against Southampton. With a chance to go momentarily first in the table, Arsenal will seek to exploit the weaknesses of Bournemouth, who come off a match-day loss against new boys Leicester. The Cherries will lean on the defense to keep Arsenal in check, while the away side will hope for Bukayo Saka’s creativity to lift the momentum.

EPL Predictions: AFC Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Details Prediction
Scoreline Arsenal 2-0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth Goalscorers Dominic Solanke
Arsenal Goalscorers Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus
League Impact A win for Arsenal could solidify their position at the top of the table, while Bournemouth would struggle to escape the relegation zone.

EPL 2024-25: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City

EPL Preview: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City

The Wolverhampton Wanderers host Manchester City at Molineux Stadium on October 20 at 6:30 PM IST. Wolves are in league trenches, winless and with one point in the kitty this term, with City leading right from the front, hoping to establish their monopoly. The talisman Erling Haaland is blooming, and the Wolves must devise a turnaround against this unappeasable early-season opposition. City are set to put the presence of possession and attacking prowess for a consolidated win.

EPL Predictions: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City

EPL Preview: Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest will host Crystal Palace on October 21, starting at 12:30 AM IST, completing Gameweek 8. Currently in position 12, Forest holds a good home record and this makes them favorites in a clash where their opponents Crystal Palace sit in 18th position without a win to their name this season. Whereas Morgan Gibbs-White is expected to do some magic for Forest, the Crystal Palace camp will be banking on Wilfried Zaha to bring in some creativity the side needs.

EPL Predictions: Nottingham Forest vs Crystal Palace

Details Prediction
Scoreline Nottingham Forest 1-0 Crystal Palace
Nottingham Forest Goalscorer Morgan Gibbs-White
League Impact A win could elevate Forest into the top half, while Palace would remain in the relegation zone, intensifying their fight for survival.

New Zealand vs West Indies – Women’s World Cup 2024 Prediction

NZW vs WIW Prediction & BETTING Tips 2024

The last two weeks have been really exciting from the perspective of a cricket fan, as we have seen a top-notch brand of cricket being played in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Excellent bowling, good batting, and sloppy fielding—we have seen it all in the group stage of the women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

It is now time for the knockouts, as the New Zealand women will be up against the West Indies women in the second semi-final of the tournament. The match will be played on October 18, 2024, at the Sharjah International Stadium from 7:30 p.m. IST. The match is expected to be a nail-biting affair, as both of these teams qualified for the knockouts by winning their last league match.

The New Zealand Women vs West Indies Women will be highly competitive as both teams are in red-hot form, and one of these teams might likely go on to become the women’s T20 World Cup 2024 winner. Let us have a look at the pre-match analysis and make our predictions for this match on the GUGOBET cricket betting app.

New Zealand Women vs West Indies Women: Match Analysis

New Zealand Women’s Team Preview

The White Ferns started their tournament with a bang and a promising victory against India that shot up their net run rate. They lost the very next match against Australia by a huge margin and were back to square one. However, their victory against Sri Lanka still kept them in the race to the knockouts. They wanted a victory against Pakistan in their last league match to qualify, and they did so in amazing fashion. The team is in fabulous form and seems the favourite to win this match.

Predicted Playing 11: Suzie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devine (c), Brooke Halliday, Maddy Green, Isabella Gaze (wk), Rosemary Mair, Lea Tahuhu, Eden Carson, and Fran Jonas.

West Indies Women’s Team Preview

The West Indian team began the tournament with a huge loss against South Africa and the worst possible start. However, they picked up some pace and won their next two matches against Scotland Women and Bangladesh Women, respectively, to still keep breathing in the league. They had to win their last match to move to the semis, and they did so as they knocked out England women in the last league match to set up a semi-final clash with New Zealand women.

Predicted Playing 11: Hayley Matthews (c), Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle (wk), Deandra Dottin, Chinelle Henry, Aaliyah Alleyne, Chedean Nation, Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, Afy Fletcher, and Karishma Ramharack.

Venue and Pitch Report

In this tournament, it has only been once that a team has crossed the 150+ run mark at the Sharjah International Stadium. Apart from that, the average first-inning score has been around 130, which tells us the nature of the pitch at this venue.

Since the pitch is more used now, it is going to be a lot slower than the previous games and will present a lot of difficulty for the batters. The team that focuses on attacking from ball one and catches on every opportunity to hit a boundary will be the happier team at the end of the day. Win the toss and bat first is the winning mantra here.

New Zealand Women vs West Indies Women: Betting Tips

NZW vs WIW: Winner Prediction

If we talk about batting, both teams present an equal batting lineup on paper. They have batters who can attack, they have batters who can build the innings, and they have batters who can finish well. However, the difference lies in the bowling. From what we think, the New Zealand team has a more complete bowling lineup than their opponents, and it can make all the difference in the match. Hence, we predict the New Zealand women to make the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.

Top Batter

Georgia Plimmer, the NZ opening batter, could be the top batter in this match. She has given good starts to her team in the tournament so far and would want to convert it into a big innings this time. From the West Indies dugout, Hayley Matthews could prove to be the difference. She has scored 357 runs in her last 10 innings and is batting flawlessly.

Top Bowler

We will put our money on Amelia Kerr to be the best New Zealand bowler in this match. Kerr is a phenomenal leg spinner who can take wickets at any stage of the game. Having taken 16 wickets in the last ten matches, Kerr is in astonishing form. For the WI team, Afy Fletcher will have a huge responsibility to be their top bowler.

Several records were broken in the third Twenty20 International between India and Bangladesh in Hyderabad, as India scored a dominant 297 for six. India decided to bat first after securing the series in New Delhi on Wednesday. Despite losing opener Abhishek Sharma early on, the team got off to a fast start thanks to Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav, who helped India achieve its joint-highest PowerPlay score in Twenty20 Internationals (82).

In the third and final Twenty20 International at Hyderabad on Saturday, India defeated Bangladesh with their highest-ever score of 297/6 in their 20 overs thanks to an explosive maiden T20I century from Sanju Samson and fast-paced knocks from captain Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya. India vs New Zealand Test Series 2024 Prediction

New Zealand Tour of India 2024 Test Series 2024 Prediction

As the curtains draw on an incredible home season for India, it is time to find out how they plan to tackle the New Zealand challenge and strengthen themselves in the World Test Championship table for this cycle.

The more scared team at this moment would be New Zealand, though, as beating India in a home series, that too in the red-ball format, was last done in 2012, and that too by an English team that was unbeatable under any conditions.

New Zealand doesn’t have a lot at stake in the World Test Championship, as they are currently sixth in the standings and have very few chances of moving to the final. However, for the hosts, winning these three matches is extremely crucial. The Border-Gavaskar trophy is going to be competitive, and the men in blue would want to win as many matches as they can before they leave for the Australian shores.

This New Zealand Tour of India 2024 series is going to be all about youngsters, as a lot of New Zealand players will be playing their first-ever test series in India, and a lot of Indian players will be playing a test match against New Zealand for the first time.

The New Zealand tour of India consists only of three test matches, and they would want to get the best out of these three. Let us see how the teams fare out for this upcoming Ind vs. NZ series, do their squad analysis, and predict the winner of the Ind vs. NZ tests.

India vs New Zealand: Schedule

The schedule for the forthcoming New Zealand tour of India is as follows: The three test matches will be played across three cities in India, where the craze for this beautiful sport is as high as it could be.

Match Date Venue
1st Test October 16, 2024 Bengaluru
2nd Test October 24, 2024 Pune
3rd Test November 1, 2024 Mumbai

India vs New Zealand 2024: Squads

Let us have a look at the squads of both teams and try to make their possible playing 11 which will contest in the first Ind vs. NZ test match.

India Team Preview

India Squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (wk), Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammad Siraj, and Akash Deep

There was a tussle between Bumrah and Gill to be the vice-captain of the team for this series, but with Bumrah winning that battle, it is now clear that he is all set to be the future leader of Team India in the red-ball format.

The squad is almost similar to the one that played in the series against Bangladesh. With Mohammad Shami still unfit, it is now a golden opportunity for Akash Deep to perform the way he did in the last series, and he will be on that flight to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar trophy.

The combination of two spinners and three seamers seems likely in this series where the pitches are not going to do a lot for the bowlers. With the big players on the verge of hanging their boots, this series presents a fabulous opportunity for youngsters such as Jaiswal and Gill to become the face of Indian cricket in the upcoming years.

India Predicted Playing 11:

Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep, and Mohammad Siraj.

New Zealand Team Preview

New Zealand Squad: Tom Latham (c), Tom Blundell (wk), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, William O’Rourke, Ajaz Patel, Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson, and Will Young

The Black Caps have suffered a huge blow right before the beginning of the series as their main batter, Williamson, has been ruled out of the first test due to an injury. Anyways, it’s a new era in New Zealand cricket as Tom Latham has been appointed as the full-time test captain of the team, replacing Tim Southee.

The three left-handed batters and the two left-arm spinners on the team are going to be the key to their success in this series against a dominant Indian lineup. An exciting young fast bowler, William O’Rourke, is on his first tour to India and has a great chance to showcase his talent in the subcontinent.

If the batters are able to stand against Indian bowling and put runs on the board in this series, the test matches are going to be competitive as the New Zealand bowlers are full of talent and can dismantle the Indian batting lineup.

New Zealand Predicted Playing 11: Tom Latham (c), Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Tom Blundell (wk), Ajaz Patel, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, and William O’Rourke.

India vs New Zealand 2024: Pitch Report

The three test matches are going to be played in Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai, respectively. We expect batting-friendly and flat pitches in Bengaluru and Mumbai, whereas Pune is anticipated to present a slowish track where the spinners can have a brilliant game.

It will be tough for the batters to get set on these pitches, but once set, they will be eyeing a huge score as the help from the pitch is going to be minimal for the bowlers.

India vs New Zealand: Winner Prediction

With Kane Williamson not being available and experienced bowlers such as Tim Southee being out of form, New Zealand have a mammoth task on their hands as they gear up to face the mighty and in-form Indian team in this series.

Each and every player on this Indian roster is in great form and has contributed to the team’s victory in past matches. Adding the home advantage to this, the men in blue are already miles ahead of the visitors, and it is a no-brainer that they will win this series.

We think it is going to be a clean sweep, but we are not ruling out the Black Caps yet if their batters score well in one inning and the bowlers keep their composure to take 20 wickets, we might see something special happen in this series between India and New Zealand.

India vs New Zealand 2024: Key Players

India

Having scored more than 1000 runs at an average of almost 58 in his last 10 test matches, Yashasvi Jaiswal is going to be a key player for the Indian team in this series. He has been giving the team great starts at a fantastic strike rate, and the same would be expected from him this time around.

With the ball, there is hardly a doubt that Jasprit Bumrah will be a key player for the team or not. Bumrah has been consistently taking wickets for the team regardless of the pitch and the conditions, and he will be the biggest threat for the New Zealand batters in this series.

New Zealand

We expect the youngster, Rachin Ravindra, to have a great series and score a lot of runs in these three test matches. Rachin has been playing cricket in the Indian conditions for a while now, and he is well familiar with these conditions. In the absence of Kane Williamson, Rachin will have added responsibility to his team.

Ajaz Patel, who holds the record for taking all the wickets in an innings against India, is going to be another key player for the visitors if they are to challenge this Indian roster. The left-arm spinner will have a huge role to play, especially on the slow and dry pitch of Pune in the second test match.

IPL 2025 Auction Updates

IPL 2025 Mega Auction Updates

It has not even been six months since we saw the Knight Riders from Kolkata lift the elusive IPL 2024 trophy, and the hype for the IPL 2025 season has already started to build up. The major reason for this buzz and excitement is the IPL 2025 mega auction, which is going to be conducted before the IPL 2025 season. We will see a lot of shuffling between the teams to create a level playing field for all ten franchises.

BCCI has released the most-awaited guidelines for the IPL auction 2025, and there is a lot of exciting information regarding the auction dynamics. We are here to walk you through all the stuff, starting with the rules and regulations of the IPL mega auction 2025, the number of retentions available, the salary cap, and what could be the top retention preferences for all the franchises.

How many retentions are allowed?

Under the new rules and regulations about the IPL 2025 mega auction, each franchise can have a maximum of six retentions. There is no minimum limit, but if a franchise decides to release its whole squad, it will be in a lot of trouble before the auction as it will have to build the team from scratch.

These six allowed retentions can be completed via retaining the players or using the Right to Match (RTM) card, and there is no cap on the usage of either of the retention methods. A franchise can retain a maximum of five capped players, which includes both Indian and overseas players. A cap of two has been set by the IPL Governing Council on the retention of uncapped Indian players.

Another interesting rule introduced by the governing council is regarding the overseas players. Over the years, we have seen a lot of foreign players ditching their IPL teams at the very last minute, leaving them with no time to change their strategies. As a result, some new conditions have been set by the committee where huge penalties will be put on such players.

The first condition is that if an overseas player fails to register himself for the mega auction, he will be ineligible to register himself for the following year’s player auction. So, if an overseas player does not register himself for the 2025 auction, he will not be able to take part in the IPL 2026 player auction.

Another condition is that if an overseas player gets sold in the auction and makes himself unavailable at the last minute for the IPL season, he will not be able to be a part of the Indian Premier League for the next two years. These strict rules will help in regulating the problem of overseas players not coming to play at the last minute.

We feel that the number set by the committee for retention is good, as the franchises that had a good squad will have something to save from it, whereas the teams that want to change their structure will also have an opportunity to build a good squad. A lot of planning and plotting will be required by the ten IPL teams to announce these retentions before October 31, 2024, which is the deadline.

What are the changes in the salary cap of the players?

Some interesting revelations have been made by BCCI as far as the salary cap of the players is concerned. The most important announcement is that the players who are a part of the playing 11 (including the impact player) will receive a match fee of INR 7.5 lakhs per match from the franchise over and above their contracted amount. This will be a huge boost to the players’ confidence and commitment towards winning matches for their team.

The auction purse, which was INR 110 crores for the last season, has been increased to INR 120 crores this time around. The franchises will have the purse to make that extra bid for players they want in their team. A total of INR 146 crores will be the total salary cap for franchises, which will include auction purses, incremental performance pay, and match fees for the players.

The salary slabs for retaining the players set by the BCCI are as follows:

Retained Player Player Value
Player 1 INR 18 crores
Player 2 INR 14 crores
Player 3 INR 11 crores
Player 4 INR 18 crores
Player 5 INR 14 crores
Uncapped Player(s) INR 4 cores

What is the new RTM rule?

By matching the amount at which the player is sold in the auction, the franchise can purchase a player who was on their roster the previous season with the RTM card. In past RTM card mega auctions, after a player was deemed sold, the auctioneer would enquire with the team to which the player had been assigned the previous season if they would like to purchase him back; if they would, they would be able to acquire the player for the sum of the winning price.

The franchise with the highest bid will have one more chance to raise its bid at the following auction, provided the prior franchise wishes to use the RTM card. To acquire the player in that scenario, the original team would have to use the RTM card to match that bid and avail the services of that player for the upcoming IPL season.

For example, Delhi Capitals decided to release Axar Patel, who went into the auction and was sold to Mumbai Indians for INR 11 crores. Now, the Delhi team will have an option to use the RTM card to keep Axar on their roster. Suppose the Delhi Capitals exercise their RTM card and decide to keep Axar Patel in their squad. Now, the Mumbai Indians will be given one more chance to increase their bid for Axar Patel, and if they do so, Delhi will have to match that bid with their RTM card; otherwise, the player will be sold to the Mumbai Indians.

How will a player be defined as uncapped or capped?

An Indian player who has played for the national team even once is known as a capped player. An uncapped player is someone who has yet to make his debut for the Indian national team and does not have a central contract with the BCCI.

However, from this year’s mega auction in the Indian Premier League, a capped Indian player will become uncapped if he has not played an international match (Test, ODI, T20I) in the last five years for the country preceding the year in which the relevant IPL season is held. The player will also become uncapped if he does not have a central contract with the BCCI.

This new rule amendment as per IPL News 2025 will allow the franchises to make a few smart decisions while cutting their costs.

England Tour Of Pakistan 2024 Series Prediction

England Tour Of Pakistan 2024 Series Prediction

On Monday, October 7, England departed for a three-match Test series for Pakistan. The first two Test matches of the Pakistan tour of England series for Brendon McCullum’s red-ball team will take place in Multan, with the final Test match taking place in Rawalpindi. October 7–11 is the first test; October 15–19 is the second; and October 24-28 is the third.

Nine teams are vying for a spot in the championship match as part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25. At the moment, Pakistan is ranked ninth on the table, and England is ranked fourth. During their last tour of Pakistan in 2022, England completed a historic 3-0 whitewash, with leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed taking a five-for on his debut.

That said, Pakistan will be looking to bounce back after their recent home defeat against Bangladesh in the 2-match Test series. The upcoming Eng vs Pak 2024 Test series promises to be a cracker. In addition, England lacks experience in their bowling department and Pakistan will be looking to capitalize on this. However, it will be interesting to watch how England performs against the Pakistanis away from home this time around.

ENG vs PAK Team Previews

England Team Preview

England Squad: Ben Stokes (captain), Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, Jack Leach, Jordan Cox, Zak Crawley, Rehan Ahmed

Following the announcement of a 17-man squad for October’s tour of Pakistan, the England Cricket Board (ECB) revealed that captain Ben Stokes will rejoin the team after missing the team’s series triumph against Sri Lanka this month. Stokes, who tore his hamstring in the English home competition The Hundred last month, and Zak Crawley, who broke his right little finger at Edgbaston in July, are both still recovering.

Alongside fellow spinner Rehan Ahmed, who made his red-ball debut in Karachi throughout the most recent Pakistan tour in December 2022, spinner Jack Leach, who hasn’t played since his initial test in India in January of this year, is back in the team.

Along with the uncapped pair of Brydon Carse and batter Jordan Cox, the roster also includes Josh Hull, 20, who made his test debut in Friday’s third test against Sri Lanka. Rehan, Harry Brook, Crawley, Ben Duckett, Leach, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, and Stokes are the eight members of the 2022 England team that have been added. England won the most recent test series against Pakistan 3-0.

Pakistan Team Preview:

Pakistan Squad (1st Test): Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Huraira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicket-keeper), Naseem Shah, Noman Ali, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicket-keeper), and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Shan Masood (Captain).

For the first Test match between Pakistan and England, which is scheduled to take place in Multan from October 7–11, the cricket selectors announced a 15-player team on Tuesday. Noman Ali, a left-arm spinner with 47 wickets in 15 Test matches, has taken the position of injured fast bowler Khurram Shahzad.
The selectors still have Kamran Ghulam and Muhammad Ali, who were in the Bangladesh Tests team, in their sights. They have been advised and encouraged to continue representing their teams in the Champions One-Day Cup and the President’s Cup, which begin on October 3, to guarantee they stay match-ready through competitive cricket. This is because the selection policy places a strong emphasis on consistency and continuity, as well as the idea that 15 players are sufficient for a Test.

Pakistan’s red-ball team has been in poor form, having won just three of their previous seventeen Test matches. Their most recent loss came against Bangladesh, who took the series 2-0 at Rawalpindi in August 2024. But according to their Test captain Shan Masood, Pakistan has a chance to win against England. That being said, it won’t be easy for Pakistan to win against an in-form England side. However, home conditions give Pakistan a strong edge ahead of the English players.

ENG vs PAK 2024 Venue and Pitch Report

First Test: Multan – October 7-11

Second Test: Multan – October 15-19

Third Test: Rawalpindi – October 24-28

Multan pitch report: The pitches at the venue in Multan so far in PSL 2024 have demonstrated that it’s not easy to score on as the game develops with both pace and spin bowlers finding success. Here, historically, the most successful teams have been those who bat first. Hence, both teams will have to keep an eye on the pitch before the toss.

Rawalpindi Pitch Report: Early on with the new ball, the playing surface at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium is going to give the fast bowlers some seam movement. The circumstances will improve as the game goes on, though, and the pitch will start to favour the batters. The equal pace and bounce of the track will be exploited by batters on both sides to score runs.

ENG vs PAK 2024 series Winner Prediction

As per our experts, the visitors England look favourites to win this England tour of Pakistan 2024 Test series. This is because when England plays their test series in Pakistan in spin-friendly conditions, their aggressive strategy will be helpful.

On the other hand, Pakistan has been in poor form, losing home matches against Bangladesh which has gathered a lot of attention on them lately. Pressure will also play a crucial role on the home side to win. That said, we predict England to clinch this exciting test series against Pakistan away from home.

ENG vs PAK 2024 series Key Players

England:

Ben Stokes: He is an important player to keep an eye on the upcoming test series. Stokes will captain a young inexperienced cricket side going into Pakistan. His attacking approach is something that the opposition will have to watch out for. He can strike the ball at an immense striking rate once he is settled on the pitch. For England to win this game, their captain Stokes will have to be at his flying best. This information will be very useful if one plans to bet on our cricket betting app.

Rehan Ahmed: Leg spin, which includes googlies, is Rehan Ahmed’s main bowling style. Ahmed is renowned for being precise. Ahmed played in the first three Test matches of England’s tour to India, taking 11 wickets, and gaining a lot of experience.

Pakistan:

Shan Masood: Pakistan’s left-handed opening batter Shan Masood is renowned for his sound technique. At the National Stadium in Karachi in December 2019, Masood achieved his second century in a Test match against Sri Lanka. Ever since then he has improved and will be leading the Pakistan side into this test. The English bowlers will have to look out for this opener as he can take the bowling attack for a ride if he gets set on the pitch.

Shaheen Shah Afridi: Afridi is an important member of Pakistan’s team in every format. He was briefly named T20I captain in November 2023, but Babar Azam was back after one series. However, he will now be wanting to prove a point against the English side after his side’s poor loss against Bangladesh earlier this year. The English batsman will have to keep a close eye on this star if they were to stay on the crease for a longer period.

With plenty of action expected on the field, be sure to stay ahead with GUGOBET’s expert predictions and the best odds. Bangladesh vs England Women’s World Cup 2024 Prediction

WT20 WC 2024 BANW vs ENGW Prediction & BETTING Tips

This article will focus on the Group B Oct 5th matchup of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 between Bangladesh Women and England Women. It will be exciting to watch a growing Bangladesh side face up against a seasoned England team in what looks to be a highly intriguing match.

England enters the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with one of its most balanced teams and possibly the most experienced players, all the way through the tournament’s group stages. Bangladesh is emerging as a side to watch. They may not have as much depth as England, but their competitive attitude and ability to strike above their weight make them a terrifying prospect. Hence, the upcoming Ban W vs Eng W matchup on October 5th will be one to watch out for.

Bangladesh Women vs England Women Match Analysis

Bangladesh Women’s Team Preview:

Probable Xl: Nigar Sultana (c), Dilara Akter (wk), Disha Biswas, Fahima Khatun, Jahanara Alam, Marufa Akter, Sobhana Mostary, Murshida Khatun, Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan, Shathi Rani

Bangladesh served as the automatic host nation, but because of the political unrest in their nation, they would have to play away from home. They have participated in the previous five editions but have not made it to the elimination stages.

Leading her team at the 9th Women’s T20 World Cup will be Nigar Sultana. Ishma Tanjim, Rubya Haider, Rumana Ahmed, Sabikun Nahar, and Shorifa Khatun have been left off the team; Disha Biswas, Fahima Khatun, Sobhana Mostary, Shati Rani, and Taj Nehar, who did not participate in the Women’s Asia Cup, have been added to the team. Their goal is to defeat the England Women’s team and announce their dominance early in Group B.

England Women’s Team Preview:

Probable Xl: Heather Knight (c), Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Bess Heath (wk), Danielle Wyatt.

After 15 grueling years since emerging victorious in 2009, the initial victors are aiming for glory. They have advanced to the knockout stages seven times, including four finals appearances. In the 9th Women’s T20 World Cup, England is paired with Bangladesh, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies in Group B. On October 5, they play Bangladesh to begin their voyage. Then, they play South Africa, Scotland, and the West Indies.
While Heather Knight and her team need to play excellent cricket to upset South Africa and the West Indies, they can easily defeat Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. However, the upcoming ICC 2024 Women’s World Cup matchup against Bangladesh Women’s side won’t be an easy one, despite the English being clear favorites to win it.

Venue and Pitch Report

The well-balanced surface of the Sharjah Cricket Stadium benefits both batters and bowlers. However, it is expected that the pitch will slow down as the game progresses, which may require spinners to step up. As a result, as the game goes on, both teams will need to pay close attention to the pitch conditions.

Ban W vs Eng W Winner Prediction

England will be the overwhelming favorite in this match, of course. They are the team that has consistently posed a real threat to ICC competitions, has far more experience, and has depth advantages in both bowling and batting. Bangladesh’s presence is still in its early stages and lacks the kind of experience that would be accessible on the grand stage.

Ban W vs Eng W Key Players

England:

Nat Sciver-Brunt: She is an accomplished all-arounder who has contributed with the bat and the ball over the past two years.

Sophie Ecclestone: She is one of the best spinners in the world, and will be extremely important to contain the middle-order batsmen from Bangladesh throughout the middle overs.

Bangladesh:

Nigar Sultana: She will serve as captain and take the initiative. Bangladesh may find her role in holding up the innings and assisting the middle order in getting well-set useful during the match.

Nahida Akter: One of the newcomers who could be vital for Bangladesh is left-arm spinner Nahida Akter, who could help stifle the English side’s powerful batsmen’s onslaught.

Australia Women

Squad – Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney (wk), Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Tayla Vlaeminck, Georgia Wareham.

Wicketkeeper batter Alyssa Healy will lead the formidable outfit that is filled with match-winners Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Tahlia McGrath, and Beth Mooney. The 6-time title holders are in magnificent form this year in the T20Is, winning 10 of their 12 T20Is played, while their couple of losses came against South Africa and India.

They have as many as 6 all-rounders in their team including Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, and Tahlia McGrath who all bring more balance to the side.

Experienced seamer Megan Schutt will lead the bowling line-up with Darcie Brown and Annabel Sutherland to complement her, while, the spin department features Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Ashleigh Gardner, and Alana King.

Key Player in Focus

Alyssa Healy has scored the most runs for Australia in T20Is this year with 366 runs in 11 innings at an average of 36.6. She will be leading the team for the first time in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and is fully excited to take up the job.

India Women

Squad – Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Dayalan Hemalatha, Shreyanka Patil, Arundhati Reddy, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Sajeevan Sajana, Pooja Vastrakar, Radha Yadav.

Having the best-ever squad for any of the ICC T20 World Cups, India Women will feel confident of achieving big in the 9th edition in UAE. Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, the side bolsters a formidable batting line-up including Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Jemimah Rodrigues, and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. The all-rounders Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar will play a vital role for the team.

Renuka Singh will be the lead pacer while Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil will start as genuine spinners. The lack of 6th bowling option is a concern, although the team can raise against all odds

Key Player in Focus

Deepti Sharma is the underrated all-rounder in the women’s cricket. She didn’t get much opportunity to bat this year, however, turned out as the best bowler for India in the shortest format with 23 scalps in 16 matches.

England Women

Squad – Heather Knight (c), Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Danielle Gibson, Sarah Glenn, Bess Heath (wk), Amy Jones (wk), Freya Kemp, Nat Sciver Brunt, Linsey Smith, Danielle Wyatt.

England Women are currently ranked 2nd in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings. They are the firm favourites to top Group B in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Led by versatile batter Heather Knight, they have a good chance to progress to the finals, if all goes well.

Maia Bouchier, Danielle Wyatt, Nat Sciver Brunt, Heather Knight, Alice Capsey, and Amy Smith will form their top 6. They have got efficient spinners in their ranks including Sarah Glenn and Sophie Ecclestone who are on top of their form. All in all the side is in good shape and aiming for their second title since winning the inaugural edition back in 2009.

Key Player in Focus

Sophie Ecclestone is the No.1 bowler both in the ICC Women’s T20I and ODI rankings. She is the joint leading wicket-taker for England in T20Is this year, picking up 17 wickets in 10 matches with the best figures of 4 for 25.

South Africa Women

Being the hosts South Africa Women will take a lot of pride in their performances from the previous edition in 2023 where they reached their first-ever final, however dropped short of clinching the title with a 19-run loss to Australia in the finals.

Led by Laura Wolvaardt, the side is capable of beating any side on their day and likely to come second in the Group B standings. On paper, they look more like a heavy batting unit that consists of Tazmin Brits, Marizanne Kapp, Sune Luus, and skipper Laura Wolvaardt. One area in which they will be tested is their bowling.

Key Player in Focus

Laura Wolvaardt is in cracking form this year, the only South African player to score the excess of 400 this year in T20Is. In 11 matches, she struck 403 runs at an average of 40.3 which comprises one century and 2 half-centuries.

GAW vs SLK Team Analysis

Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW)

Guyana Amazon Warriors finished at the top of the points table, thanks to their consistent all-around performances throughout the season. They have a balanced side with depth in both batting and bowling. GAW’s bowling unit, spearheaded by Imran Tahir, has played a crucial role in restricting opponents, while their batting lineup has shown resilience under pressure.

  • Top Batsman: Shimron Hetmyer has been their standout performer, accumulating 450 runs in the tournament at an impressive average of 45. His ability to anchor the innings and accelerate when needed has been pivotal.
  • Top Bowler: Imran Tahir, with 15 wickets so far, has been exceptional, using his experience to trouble batsmen on spin-friendly pitches.

Predicted XI:

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Shai Hope (wk), Shimron Hetmyer (c), Azam Khan, Romario Shepherd, Keemo Paul, Dwaine Pretorius, Imran Tahir, Gudakesh Motie, Odean Smith, Junior Sinclair.

Key Players: Shimron Hetmyer, Imran Tahir, Romario Shepherd.

Saint Lucia Kings (SLK)

Saint Lucia Kings secured the second position on the points table. They have been an aggressive team, banking on explosive starts from their openers and the power-hitting capabilities in the lower order. However, they’ve struggled at times with their middle-order stability, which has led to a few losses in close matches.

  • Top Batsman: Faf du Plessis, with 350 runs at an average of 35, has been a key player for SLK, guiding their batting efforts with stability and aggression.
  • Top Bowler: Alzarri Joseph has been their strike bowler, picking up 13 wickets and maintaining a good economy rate.

Predicted XI:

Johnson Charles, Faf du Plessis (c), Sean Williams, Roston Chase, Tim David, Roshon Primus, Scott Kuggeleijn, Alzarri Joseph, Jeavor Royal, Kesrick Williams, Matthew Forde.

Key Players: Faf du Plessis, Tim David, Alzarri Joseph.

H2H This Season

The two teams have faced each other twice in CPL 2024, with Guyana Amazon Warriors winning both matches convincingly. In their first encounter, GAW bowled out SLK for just 100 runs and chased it comfortably in 10 overs to win by 6 wickets. The second match was a high-scoring affair where GAW posted 207 runs and restricted SLK to 172, winning by 35 runs. These victories highlight GAW’s upper hand going into the Qualifier.

Venue and Pitch Report

The Qualifier 1 will be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana, which traditionally favours spinners due to its slow surface. With an average first-innings score of 160, the pitch demands patient batting and tactical bowling. Teams winning the toss are likely to opt for batting first to put up a competitive score and utilize the conditions to their advantage in the second innings.

Match Prediction and Betting Tips

Based on form and balance, Guyana Amazon Warriors enter this match as slight favourites. They have a strong batting lineup complemented by a solid bowling attack, with Imran Tahir’s spin expected to play a crucial role on the Providence surface. However, Saint Lucia Kings are no pushovers; with their explosive batting and aggressive bowling, they can upset GAW’s plans if their top order, led by Faf du Plessis, fires.

CPL 2024 Qualifier 1 Winner Prediction:

Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) to win this CPL Qualifier 1 due to their superior form and team depth.

CPL 2024 Qualifier 1 Top Run Scorer:

Shimron Hetmyer – Shimron Heymyer has been in excellent form and is likely to be the standout performer with the bat.

CPL 2024 Qualifier 1 Top Wicket Taker:

Imran Tahir – The conditions at Providence suit his bowling style, and he is expected to take crucial wickets in the middle overs.

The battle between Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) and Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) in CPL 2024 Qualifier 1 promises to be a thrilling encounter. GAW’s all-around strength gives them a slight edge, but SLK has the potential to pull off an upset if their key players deliver. ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 – Squad Analysis

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 – Squad Analysis

The 9th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to kick start on October 3rd and will be played till October 20th. Originally the tournament was supposed to be played in Bangladesh, however, it shifted to UAE due to the political unrest happening in Bangladesh, however, the Asian country will remain as the host.

A total of 23 matches will be played, including the knockouts. Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium are the two venues that host the marquee event.

How many teams are in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024?

India, Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and debutants Scotland are the 10 teams participating in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The first 7 teams qualified based on their rankings, Bangladesh secured an automatic qualification as the hosts, while Sri Lanka and Scotland earned their spots by playing in the qualifiers.

India Women’s Squad Preview

Squad – Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wk), Dayalan Hemalatha, Shreyanka Patil, Arundhati Reddy, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Sajeevan Sajana, Pooja Vastrakar, Radha Yadav.

Firstly we will discuss the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 India Squad.

Elimination in the first round on three occasions, four times exiting in the semi-finals,  and a loss in the finals once has been the story of India in their Eight attempts at the Women’s T20 World Cup.

India is placed in Group A in the 9th edition along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. They start their campaign against New Zealand on October 4th, followed by games against Pakistan (October 6th), Sri Lanka (October 9th) and Australia (October 13th).

This is our best-ever team at a T20 World Cup squad, says skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, her statement makes sense in every possible way as 12 out of 15 members have previous experience of playing in the T20 World Cup. The newcomers Shreyanka Patil, Sajeevan Sajana, and Asha Sobana have done well to get to this stage through the ranks of the Women’s Premier League.

The selectors have retained the same squad that played in the Women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka a couple of months back which they lost to hosts Sri Lanka in the finals. The form of the openers is a positive sign with Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, scoring 373 runs between them in the Asia Cup. The stability their middle order brings makes them the best in the world, although they will be tested under pressure in UAE. Watch out for Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh, and Deepti Sharma who form the core of the middle order.

The rise of all-rounder Deepti Sharma is the talking point, the 27-year-old all-rounder was outstanding for UP Warriorz in the WPL this year, scoring 295 runs and picking up 8 wickets. She even topped the wicket-takers charts in the Asia Cup with 10 scalps.

Pooja Vastrakar, Renuka Singh, Radha Yadav, and Shreyanka Patil will form their bowling unit.

Australia Women’s Squad Preview

Squad – Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney (wk), Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Tayla Vlaeminck, Georgia Wareham.

Australia has dominated the competition entirely, winning the title six times. They are going to defend the title this time, following their success in South Africa in 2023 where they beat hosts in the final by 19 runs.

Things have changed for the record holders who now moved on from the Meg Lanning era with Alyssa Healy taking the reigns at the biggest stage in UAE. Phoebe Litchfield, Sophie Molineux, and Tayla Vlaeminck are the only three changes from the previous T20 World Cup.

World Champions are in staggering form this year, winning 10 of their 12 T20Is, including a couple of clean sweeps against Bangladesh and New Zealand by 3-0 margin each.

The squad is very much organized with Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Tahlia McGrath, Phoebe Litchfield, and Ashleigh Gardner going to form their batting, while Megan Schutt, Kim Garth, Darcie Brown, Alana King, Georgia Wareham, and Sophie Molineux serving their bowling unit. They begin their tournament against Sri Lanka on October 5th at Sharjah.

They are in amazing form this year in T20Is, winning 13 of their 15 matches played, which gives them the confidence to go with a positive mindset.

Bowlers are on song in the shortest format this year with Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn taking the honours with 17 wickets each, while Charlie Dean and Lauren Bell too played their part, picking up 15 wickets and 14 wickets respectively.

Even in the recent Women’s Asia Cup, they failed to make it to the finals after losing to Sri Lanka in the semi-finals closely. Following a setback, Nida Dar gave up her captaincy.

In the build-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, they hosted South Africa in the 3-matches T20I series which they lost by a 2-1 margin. The new captain Fatima Sana felt somewhat relieved by a reasonable show from her teammates.

Harshitha Samarawickrama (140 runs) and Kavisha Dilhari (59 runs and 9 wickets) too got praise for their special performances.

Bangladesh secured an automatic qualification to the event as the hosts, but unfortunately, they have to play away from home due to the political unrest happening in the country.

They previously participated in the last five editions but have yet to advance to the knockout stages. Of course, the talent is there, but a lack of structural guidance is hindering their progress at the biggest stage. Their performances this year are not overwhelming as they managed only 2 wins from 12 T20Is. They made it to the Semi-Finals of the Women’s Asia Cup but got thoroughly thrashed at the hands of India by 10 wickets.

Nigar Sultana will lead the side in the 9th edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup. Disha Biswas, Fahima Khatun, Sobhana Mostary, Shati Rani, and Taj Nehar who were not part of the Women’s Asia Cup come into the squad, while there is no place for Ishma Tanjim, Rubya Haider, Rumana Ahmed, Sabikun Nahar, and Shorifa Khatun.

Australia, India, England, and South Africa are superior to the rest of the teams, and any one of those will clinch the title for sure. Sign Up now on our Cricket Betting App – GUGOBET and get a 100% Welcome Bonus to bet on ICC Women’s World Cup 2024!
