Not many would have thought Shubman Gill would become the new poster boy of Indian cricket in a short period when the main focus was on upcoming batter Prithvi Shaw a few years back. Both represented India in the ICC U19 World Cup held in New Zealand with Shaw leading the side and it was Gill who won the Player of the Tournament award for his high-quality batting and guided India to the title win.

Gill waited for 22 innings to bring his first 3-figure mark in the purest form of cricket. He was all smiles on the 3rd day of the 1st Test when he reached his maiden Test ton. His innings of valuable 110 runs helped India to gain a massive lead of 512 runs in the 2nd innings. Visitors, India went on to win the Test by a massive 188 runs to take a 1-0 lead.
Shubman Gill Century #3: 15th January 2023, Thiruvananthapuram, 3rd ODI vs Sri Lanka:
Shubman Gill was slowly establishing himself in the ODIs and made another big statement in the 50-over format, scripting a sublime 116 runs in the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka to account for his first ton on the Indian soil, his knock included 14 fours and 2 maximums.
With centuries from Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, India posted a colossal 390 runs, registered a record-breaking 317 runs win, and later sealed the series 3-0. He ended the series in a grand style, collecting 207 runs in 3 matches at an average of 69.

Shubman Gill extended his sheer dominance in white ball cricket and brought up his 5th career century in the 3rd ODI against New Zealand at Indore. He matched his shots with skipper Rohit Sharma and stitched a 212 run-stand for the opening wicket.
Gill hit 13 fours and 5 sixes during his stay of 112 runs. With his fine display of batting, India completed yet another whitewash to script a 3-0 win. He finished the series with 360 runs in 3 matches and bagged his 2nd Man of the Series award in the ODIs.
Shubman Gill Century # 6: 1st February, Ahmedabad, 3rd T20I vs New Zealand:
Shubman Gill completed yet another feat when he became the 5th Indian to score centuries in all forms of the game. Questions were asked for his spot in the Indian side when he had scores of 7, 5, 46, 7, and 11 in his first 5 T20Is, and then came a mammoth knock of 126* in the 3rd T20I against New Zealand that proved everyone wrong.
With his superlative batting show, India posted 234 runs and won the game by a whopping 168 runs to complete a 2-1 series win.
Shubman Gill Century # 7: March 11th, Ahmedabad, 4th Test vs Australia:
Shubman Gill kept scoring runs for India and one more milestone was added to his list. He became the only cricketer to score a century in all formats this year. He struck his 2nd Test century in the 4th Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia and got dismissed for 128 runs. The Test ended in a disappointing draw and India won the series 2-1.
